10 Powerful Habits For Self-Improvement
Today, I am talking to you regarding the 10 Cherry Picking Habits. I will tell you what I believe to be the most powerful one to all those in the self-improvement journey. We will not list what the habits really are, but I will also provide the reasons why I devoted an entire episode to discussing why they are so important to our personal growth and self-improvement process.
I feel that, when we speak of which, I could write an entire 50-page essay on the things I do, what motivation and discipline are best for. But I included these habits specifically for the self-improvement journey, because it’s the focus of this article.
When you have such a routine, it is what allows you the time to be in your mind, think about what you want to accomplish, and think energetically about why you want to accomplish it, so that is the most vital way through which you can accomplish it in your life. Effective, sustainable, and connected (long-lasting, impactful, connected) changes can be implemented.

Self-Improvement – Habit 1: Movement

I think the first habit has been indispensable to my journey of self-improvement. I do not necessarily mean that you have to go to the gym five days a week; I was just referring to the fact that you just have to move your body, get your muscles moving with it. It is magical and beautiful that the mind-body connection exists.
For me, it’s a fairly flexible routine throughout my week. I have an intense and excellent gym program, but I like to mix it up with Pilates, walking, and yoga. It’s about the endorphins, the “feel good” hormones, and the satisfaction of sticking to what you said you would do.
This practice plays a key role in building discipline and evidence for yourself that you can commit to and act on. This foundation is critical for growth.
Habit 2: No-phone Rule
This is a golden pillar for me. In the first two hours of the day and the last hour of the day, my phone is on. So that no one Do not disturb. I try not to go into it unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Using this feature means I start my morning with focus and peace. It protects my energy and gives me sacred, uncluttered time. During the night, this habit will assist me in calming down my energy before sleep. Social media scrolling gives the brain a rush of anxious dopamine – switch it off and you can sleep comfortably.
Overall, it has improved my sleep, my relationship with myself, and my ability to focus throughout the day.
Habit 3: Stay Organized
If you’re like me and love lists, this is for you. It’s an organized system. It’s important to manage your time and tasks. If things get mixed up in your head, they’ll get mixed up in your life too.

I use two main apps:
- Sonoma– Bring together all your calendars in one place.
- Calendly– Schedules meetings across time zones.
Organization brings clarity and peace of mind. When your schedule is clear, your thinking is clear too.
Habit 4: Preparing Your Own Food

You have to prepare your own food energy management. According to most people, it is considered cheaper and quicker to place an online food order and get it delivered, so maybe on the surface, it is what you experience. I maintain a high energy level on the day because I eat my clean, home-cooked food. Health is the foundation of everything we do. Cooking helps me to maintain my physical and general health.
Habit 5: Sunday Planning Day
My fifth habit is to create. Sunday is when I plan my meetings, weekly goals, and meal prep. I usually order groceries on Saturday so that everything is ready on Sunday, which saves time.

Point planning and organizing save you brain power. This isn’t just about food – it’s about planning your week for greatness. If your weekend falls on other days, choose one of them as your planning day, as in the Middle East, Friday is a holiday, but in the US and Europe, Sunday is a holiday. The key is to enter the week with clarity and structure.
Habit 6: Independent Teaching
The sixth habit that has been powerful in my journey of self-improvement is continuous learning. When you begin to learn, that’s when you figure out how ignorant you truly are – the more you learn, the less you know. Development is a lifelong process. Engage in learning regularly. Podcasts, books, and articles that make you feel anything at all. I have allocated time for listening and learning something new, such as Thursday walks.

This guarantees continuous evolution in whatever area you want to develop.
Habit 7: Mindful Habits
Mindfulness is the key. Mindfulness means having distraction-free time and space for yourself. This can look like meditation, journaling, taking a quiet walk, or simply sitting with your thoughts.

If you are not connected to what is going on inside you, your thoughts, emotions, and mindset, then your efforts to improve yourself lack true alignment. Habits of mindfulness bring you back in touch with yourself, your inner world.
Habit 8: Being clear on your priorities
It is important for balance to clarify your priorities. In Balance Theory, I talk about three main areas: Health, Relationships, and Fulfilment– Think of them as gardens that need sunlight and water (yours uncompromisingly).
Then there are wants– Fertilizers that add value but are not necessary. Identify your non-negotiables (perhaps quality time with loved ones) and what you want (new activities or hobbies). Design your week in relation to the must-haves, and fill the space left over with what you want to accomplish.

Habit 9: No Agenda Time
The ninth habit is what I call…No agenda time. It’s unrealistic to plan every second of your life. You need open space for relaxation, spontaneity, and joy. I schedule a two-hour block of no-agenda time on Sunday afternoons to do whatever I feel like doing at the time. This balances structure with freedom and prevents burnout.

Habit 10: Flexibility
The last and perhaps most profound habit is flexibility. You can have perfect routines, but without flexibility, it’s impossible to move with the ebb and flow of life.
Some days you’ll want to switch up your gym session for some rest, or switch up your recording day because you’re not feeling energetically aligned. Being flexible lets you respond authentically rather than being a slave to your schedule.

Flexibility is what helps you stay in tune with your intuition and what makes your routines something that is not binding.
